Stacie Antonette.

This is the old Stacie Antonette on the outside, Looks to be doing a little better then the Aquarius . Mixed emotions seeing these rigs , I’m glad they’re  still afloat but its sad to see the state they’re in. I wanted to say a huge Thank You to Igor from Marco, its amazing at how much help we get from all over the World. Please send your pictures to [email protected]

Aquarius.

Well I’m not sure what to say. These pictures sent to me by my good friend Igor from Marco. This is the Aquarius in Ghana. Owned by the Dasilva family in its San Diego days. It was such a big part of my family’s life with my father and uncle both fishing on it for years. It was a beautiful seiner. [email protected]

Joseph Scafidi…

Very Sad news, I need to report the passing of a great fisherman . Joseph Scafidi. He was born in San Gregorio , Sicily in 1924. He moved to the United States in 1950 and earned  Masters papers a few years later. He was skipper of many boats in his career , his favorite the Finisterre. In 1982 he made his last trip on the Antonina C,  28 day trip Full load 750 tons. My condolences to his family. [email protected]

200,000…

Wow! I don’t know what to say.  I started this site to preserve the history and memories of the San Diego Tuna Fleet. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has contributed pictures over the years. I need to say a special thanks to my good friend Tom Walsh. So lets keep moving! We always need photos. I can’t do this without your support and all of those who are generous enough to send photos whenever they can. If you have any photos, please send them to [email protected].
